Xomba.com, the online community for writers and readers, is holding a contest.

Contestants, including aspiring novelists, submit a fictional book synopsis between 300 and 1500 words that they would like to pitch to a publisher.

The first prize winner will receive a 30-minute phone conversation with Steve Alten, the New York Times bestselling author of Meg and Hell’s Aquarium, among other notable titles.

Second prize is $200, third prize is $100, and the fourth prize will be a Xomba T-shirt.

Contest ends January 18th, 2010.
