Contest Whiz is introducing some unique features for our contest posts. I, the Whiz, will be giving ratings for future contests. This is meant solely as a guide for our readers to decide which contests are more worthwhile for them to enter. The ratings criteria will be based on elements such as ease of entry, attractiveness of prizes, track record of contest holder etc. It will be on a scale of 1 star to 10 stars, with 10 stars being the best.

The purpose of the ratings is to act as a rough opinion-based guide to help my readers to choose between the many contests in the blogosphere, especially for those with not enough time to participate in all the contests. Bird On A Wire is a blog about finances and frugal living by a life advisor. If you’re looking for free advice from someone experienced in the ways of life, you can check out her site. She has got a nice blog design from Design Disease which is neat and easy on the eyes, while maximizing the space available. I noticed she does paid reviews as well. This goes two ways - while it may be a good source of income online, I have heard that certain search engines penalize blogs which do this. Ultimately, one will have to count the costs of doing so and make a calculation as to whether it is worthwhile.

Mixed Market Arts is a blog by a young and enterprising internet marketer, Collin LaHay. Despite his tender age, Collin already has several successful web ventures under his belt. In fact, he recently sold two of these ventures for a cool $13,000. Through his blog, he intends to share his learning experiences in his journey towards becoming a professional internet marketer.
As a way of promoting his blog, he has come up with this weekly contest which aims to pay out a designated sum plus donated prizes to participants. I like his notion of an ongoing contest which will see many people becoming winners.
